Congratulations to our Clinical Nurse Specialist, Barbara Kissane, who had her abstract accepted for presentation at The Annual Dialysis Conference to be held in San Antonio in February, 2012. The topic is “Gastric Bypass Surgery in Morbidly Obese Peritoneal Dialysis Patients Awaiting Kidney Transplant Without Changing Their Dialysis Modality”. This is actually a goundbreaking study done by Barbara in conjunction with Dr. Nestor De La Cruz of the University of Miami School of Medicine and the doctors of The Kidney Group. She has also been invited to present a manuscript of the study to be published in “Peritoneal Dialysis International”. Congratulations to Barbara!
