Every kidney transplant here is wonderful, but this one is especially wonderful! The patient of Dr. Jorge Ajuria got a kidney at Tampa General Hospital. He had been our Peritoneal Dialysis patient for over 8 years, and was ambivalent about receiving a transplant, even after he was listed. He did so well on PD that he put the idea of transplant on hold. Every month, we nudged him until one day he said “It’s time” and he quickly got THE call. We were so excited, each of us messaging the other with the happy news!! Dan-you were a model PD patient, and the Kidney & Hypertension Group team are over the moon with this happy news-all of us-Dr. Ajuria, Barbara, Vern, Liz, Josie, Paola, Christine, and all the doctors of the KHG! WE DID IT!!!!!
