What’s your cholesterol?..how much do you weigh?..simple questions you probably know the answer to..but what’s your BUN? your creatinine? Is there protein in your urine?(there shouldn’t be)..these are all things to ask your physician at your next check up. They represent the simple screening of your kidneys..Are your values normal? How do you keep them like that for a lifetime? Are they not normal..can we reverse it? How do we preserve the kidney function you do have when they are not functioning at top form? There’s lots you can do. At the Kidney Group of South Florida we like to teach you to love your kidneys…so check back. For now-it’s not an old wives tale..your kidney really do love water..so unless you’ve been told to restrict your fluid..drink up. Aim for 8 glasses of water a day. I know its not easy..but you can do it.
