This is Dr. Gabriel Valle’s former Peritoneal Dialysis patient, Nelson. Nelson is many things-an architect, a former model, a fitness buff. He is also determined. After a few years on PD, he got a kidney transplant, which failed almost immediately. This is uncommon. And it was a devastating setback.
Nelson shook it off, got back on the list and 9 months later got a near perfect match kidney. It is working beautifully. He tells us he “feels both awesome and blessed”.

We know it is tough to do all those tests, and jump through hoops, and have disappointment after disappointment. But hang on. Follow your treatment. Reach any weight goal that has been set for you by the Transplant Team. You’ll get the kidney.
