Meet The #Kidney & #Hypertension Group’s Dr. Carlos Bejar.
Dr. Bejar did his Nephrology training at The Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, and then returned to Florida when he joined the Nephrolgy Department of The Cleveland Clinic Florida. He also did a mini-fellowship in Kidney Stone Management at Duke University. He left Cleveland Clinic in 1995 to join The Kidney & Hypertension Group.
Dr. Bejar has continued to distinguish himself in the field of Kidney Medicine and Hypertension. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Nephrology, and is also Certified in Hypertension by the American Society of Hypertension (ASH). He is a Keynote Speaker on the subject of Refractory Hypertension, and travels throughout the United States educating physicians on this important topic. He is a board member of Network 7, which governs dialysis centers in Florida. He is an advisor to The Lupus Foundation, and autoimmune diseases is an area of special interest for him. Lupus patients often travel great distances to see him.
He is Vice Chairman of the Medial Staff at Imperial Point Medical Center, and also Director of Inpatient Dialysis Services at Holy Cross Hospital. He is a faculty member of both Nova Southeastern University and The University of Miami Departments of Medicine.
Dr. Bejar also has a special interest in both Home Dialysis and Transplantation. He is known for his warm and caring manner with patients. He derives great satisfaction from positively impacting the lives of his patients.
